OUR NAME DEFINES US
[KO-DA-WA-RI] NOUN
Kodawari is a Japanese philosophy which at its heart embraces the relentless pursuit of perfection.
In-keeping with this, we only use the finest materials. And we set one very simple test for every piece we make: is there anything we can do to make this better?

HANDMADE-TO-ORDER
Every piece of furniture we make, we make by hand, to order, here in our rural Cambridgeshire workshop. And we can ‘customise’ every stock design to individual preferences (often with little impact on price). Clients can specify woods, colours, finishes, mix design elements and alter sizes. Just call us to discuss, we’re real people who love to talk about what we do.

Our FURNITURE
Our approach to making furniture fuses the rich history of British cabinet making, with the near clinical precision of Japanese joinery.
Meanwhile our design ethos draws upon elements of classic British tradition and the stark simplicity of Scandanavian design. Our furniture forsakes elaborate ornamentation, mouldings and surface clutter. It instead concentrates on clear, bold lines and angular bevels.
And our journey has happily embraced the use of modern materials. Toughened optical quality glass, polished aluminium, liguid glass epoxy, aniline leather and exotic hardwoods all feature prominently in our work.
But it is our use of colour that truly defines us. Wood almost universally comes in just one colour, ‘natural wood’ colour. We’ve explored the roles of dyes and modern finishes to place bold, rich colour at the centre of everything we do.
